"Agroperifèrics" es un proyecto artístico articulado a partir del archivo de un trabajo de campo fotográfico realizado en huertas periurbanas de la segunda corona metropolitana de Barcelona entre 2006 y 2012. La conceptualización del proyecto ha contado con la colaboración con Marta Dahó y de Carles Marcos e incluye un texto de Joan Nogué.

INTRODUCCIÓN
"Crecí en un lugar agrónomo y periférico que, con el tiempo, se volvía impermeable y urbano. 30 años más tarde empecé a husmear entre los rastros de quienes, por otras razones, habían cambiado tierra por asfalto.
La mayor parte de esa gente se fueron de las áreas rurales hacia grandes zonas urbanas para participar en la construcción y transformación de nuevos territorios. Participaron en el cambio del paisaje y del imaginario identitario de sus hijos. Con el tiempo, algunos de ellos volvían a reconstruir en terrenos permeables sobrantes, creando nuevos lugares agroperiféricos. Esos lugares son a la vez, memoria, representación y transposición de una idea de paisaje que llevan consigo desde muchos años atrás.
"Agroperifèrics" es el primer libro de una obra doble que empieza con un viaje por estos paraísos construidos".

SOBRE EL PROCESO DE FINANCIACIÓN
Iniciar la financiación de este proyecto a través de una plataforma de micromecenazgo nos parece lo mas adecuado y coherente con las dinámicas que llevamos a cabo desde hace un año. Se trata de invitar a participar a todas las personas interesadas en este proyecto en particular y, en general, en el proyecto de Bside Books como plataforma de libros independientes a través de procesos colaborativos. Con esta idea queremos recuperar la bonita experiencia obtenida con la edición de "La guía de las rutas inciertas" de Clara Nubiola a través de Verkami, en la cual amigos, micromecenas, y gente afín puedieron formar parte activa del proyecto a través del sistema de crowdfunding.

INTRODUCTION
Agroperifèrics is a book based around the archive of a photographic fieldwork project carried out in Barcelona's peri-urban alegal allotments between 2006 and 2012. The project was conceptualised with the collaboration of Marta Daho and Carles Marcos. It includes a text by Joan Nogué.

"I grew up in an agricultural area on the city outskirts, which gradually became more impermeable and urban over time. Thirty years later I started poking around among the traces of people who, for different reasons, had decided to change sands by asphalt.

Most of these people had moved from rural areas to major urban centres in order to contribute to the construction and transformation of new territories. They actively participated in changing the landscape and the imaginary bound up in the identity of their children. Over time, some of these people began to return to leftover permeable lands near their new cities, creating new “agro-peripheral” areas. These places are simultaneously the memory, representation and transposition of a notion of landscape that they have been carrying with them for many years.

Agroperifèrics is the first book in a two-part project that begins with a journey through these constructed paradises.”

THE FUNDING PROCESS
In terms of our approach to the financing the project, we think that a crowdfunding platform is the most appropriate and the most consistent with the dynamics that we’ve been working with over the past year. The idea is to invite anybody who is interested in this project – and more generally in Bside Books as a platform for the production of independent books through collaborative processes – to participate in making it possible. We hope to reproduce the wonderful experience we had when we published Clara Nubiola’s La guía de las rutas inciertas through Verkami, in which friends, micropatrons and all kinds of people who were interested in the project were able to actively participate in it through the crowdfunding system.

The entire amount raised through Verkami.com will go towards covering the printing costs of the book and the shipping of rewards. If we achieve our funding goal on Verkami.com, the book was published by Bside Books and printed in summer 2012.
